April. The notorious month of rain or should I say in a slightly more uplifting way.. showers.
Lets take a lesson from the British, they seem to have the rainy days beat. Rain is not stopping future bride to be Kate Middleton from dressing to the 9's!

Leopard Print Cuff Welly socks $40 I am technically still a Cheetah, a few years from a Cougar, but definitely will be sporting the Leopard!! Lol!!!
Sorry for the delay in posts this week. One of my perfectly angelic children decided that they would boobie trap the stairs with toothpicks. My youngest fell victim to the prank when he ran down the stairs and stepped on one. Mom however was the one most punished as I have had to carry my 48lb 5 year old around for an entire week. Ah life as a mom of four.
However, this mama did manage to make it out Wednesday night along with Kate and Christina to Cynthia Rowley on Newbury Street Boston for a very fashionable, enjoyable and very successful event. The Mamas and I along with Aj Williams of Creative Events had the Cynthia Rowley Boutique filled with a very lively and fashion forward crowd. We sipped champagne, nibbled on these amazingly moist cupcakes from Party Favors Brookline, laughed, talked fashion, careers, children, laughed some more. There were Mamas getting complimentary hair styling by Shannon Walsh of Jeffrey Lyle Salon. Other Mamas trying on pieces from the Cynthia Rowley Spring 2011 line. Did I mention the amazingly moist cupcakes! Not your mom's funfetti my friend!!!

It was such a fun night! As hard as it is to juggle everything to get a night out as well as living 60 miles away from Boston, Christina, Kate and I still make it a point to experience these sort of events, because we know a good dose of laughter, friends and fashion is just enough to charge these Mamas batteries.
XO Kimberly, Kate and Christina
Special Thank you to Nino Sambataro of Ninopix for amazing pictures and video!! Very talented and all around great guy!!
Last thursday night I had the pleasure of attending along with one of our readers Jessica McMaster Hennessey the Fashion Rules Party held at the Neiman Marcus Natick. I knew that this event would be fabulous as it was a collaboration between Neiman Marcus Natick and Creative Events, Inc. To quote President and Creative Director of Creative Events, Aj Williams "I wanted to create a draw, something customers in the Natick area could not access to easily while in a normal shopping environment. Bringing in celebrity stylists and fashion gurus from Boston was a huge hit and Neiman Marcus Natick reaped the rewards with a new customer base and sales that night. Giving the guests access to experts as they gave them tips on spring fashion. I even ended up with a Roberto Rodriguez fringe skirt."
Let me tell you the cream of the crop was brought out to make this night a success. Boston's top stylists such as Joseph Gordon Cleveland, sounds by DJ Supreme One. Lifestyle and Fashion Editor's Alexander Hall of Boston Magazine and Jill Radsken of The Boston Herald as well as Neiman Marcus Natick's warm, accessible and knowledgeable employees!
I was lucky enough to get a few on video!
Well Mamas, you heard it from Neiman Marcus Natick's Pr Director April Riccio. You are personally invited to come to Neiman Marcus Natick it is your store to enjoy!!
This is me playing Dress up in Chanel!! I loved the colors in this $1800 silk Kimono! To me it screamed Old Hollywood Glamour! I can picture it now lounging on the Sofa. Darling could you pass me my script and my smokes!
Six more days until Oscar Night and Kate, Christina and I will be walking the red carpet in Boston at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel to benefit The Ellie Fund. I was at the gym on the treadmill when I saw on tv that channel 5 will be live on the red carpet for the event! I almost fell off the back of the treadmill!! Yikes! So much to do, learn.... prep, prep, prep!!!!!
I found this great instructional video on youtube by Loreal Paris Academy. Check it out Mamas. It is nice to know how to be red-carpet ready no matter what carpet life puts you on!
My sweetest Valentine came 10 years ago today three hours short of Valentine's Day! A beautiful baby girl we named Caroline Agnes. I remember being on Nantucket Island with friends and Kathy Lee Gifford stopped me on the street to tell me how beautiful my son was! HA! Of course at the time I turned to my friend and mumbled she's dressed in head to toe pink? Is she blind! After that I said thats it I'm clipping a bow to the tiny lock of hair she had on her head. I may never have another girl! Little did I know... three boys later that would be true!
I remember when I would pick her up from her crib after naps and she would pat me on my back. Today when we are able to steal a few moments together it always feels like that pat on the back from her.... full of love and happiness!!!
I'm telling you there is something in the water down here in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts that seems to draw out talent! We have so many Mamaprenuers in our town we could just dedicate the entire blog to them.
Today I would like to introduce you to one... Interior Decorator and mother of (four boys) Greta Fox. Greta has opened her home to us and allowed us to show you her vision of Christmas in her new seaside home. Mamas prepared to be wowed!!!!
and here are some more shots for you to enjoy of our very talented friend Greta Fox.
" When decorating your home for the Holidays to create the biggest impact pick one favorite spot preferably high up like a mantle. Somewhere out of reach from curious little hands and don't be afraid to get creative. I like to use Mercury glass because it reflects the light from the tree as well as candles etc. For tree placement I like to tell my clients to place it near a window because it reflects the light and creates a bigger impact at night." - Greta
As you can see in this picture below creativity is Greta's strong point! She had these bunk beds custom built for her boys and with the ceiling painted navy.... skies the limit!
Besides the interior Design shows she frequents, Greta also finds items for her clients at local shops like Serendipity by the Sea, Homegoods, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn etc.
Greta provides services in Interior Decorating, Visual Displays, Holiday Decorating, Party Decor, Home Staging, Paint Consultation as well as Home Building/Design Consultant. To contact Greta you may email her at [email protected]
Greta, thank you for allowing us to show your home it is truly Spectacular! You are one Haute Talented Mama! We wish you much continued success in your business.
Recently we got an email about what to do when you have a bad hair day and the baseball hat just isn't going to cut it. You know those days when you are sporting your Haute Car-pool Mama outfit!
Kate and I are big hat girls. Hats look great on everyone but not all mamas feel comfortable wearing them. I'll tell ya tho..... every mama that does wear them gains instant Hauteness!!!!
So Kate and I got together to show you our alternative to the Baseball Hat!
Happy Shopping!
XO Kimberly and Kate
And hats off to our readers for the great questions! Please feel free to submit questions for the mamas to [email protected] and we'll do our best to help.
"I believe that every women has the power to change the world, we make things happen." Fergie
Last saturday night Kate and I experienced that very same quote. When we had the pleasure of attending the Room to Grow Fall Gala. Room to Grow Boston with only a staff of six women pulled off a phenomenal charity event to raise money to help hundreds of babies born into poverty reach their third Birthday. Their mothers also benefit from the support and knowledge from councilors and social workers. The Gala was held at the Park Plaza Castle in Boston. With the help of many volunteers and charitable donations the night was an enormous success.
The Gala, was hosted by the always delightful Mary Richardson and Pat Canning. Hollywood was represented by film star Uma Thurman who lit up when talking about both her love for the state (Go Massachusetts!), and of Room to Grow. Saskia Epstein director of Room to Grow Boston and nicknamed by Mary Richardson "Team Captain" spoke to us and said " So many families are being helped in these tough financial times and thanked us for our support. She explained how she meets nervous new moms everyday and how rewarding it is to see that total sense of relief when she enters Room to Grow that she will find the help she needs for her baby and herself. Dinner began with Boston Arts Academy singing two beautiful songs for us, followed by honoree, and Room to Grow parent, Jocelyn Pena, who spoke to the crowd of 400 explaining how the organization had helped her and her son grow together. Literal tears came to my eyes as I listened to this woman tell her tale, not because of her hardship, but because of her pride. Pride in her son. Pride in her life. Pride in Room to Grow. I would love to follow Jocelyn's story over the years, because clearly this is just the beginning, a big part of it in thanks to the support she's received at Room to Grow.
Room to Grow provides developmental information, customized support, and all of the needed baby items to low income families beginning at pregnancy and continuing until their child turns three. Their goal is to ensure a healthy and secure start for the child, but what they are also providing, that was clearly evident in Jocelyns speech, is confidence. Our government might want to take note of this organization.. For the time being though, as woman, we can support this outstanding organization by getting involved, if not monetarily, then by donating your kindly used baby items, or organzing a collection drive of baby items in your community. At the very least keep these families in your hearts. Not everyone has the luxury of a supportive family, friend or even spouse. Things we take for granted, like a stroller, a change of baby clothes or even a board book can mean the world of difference to someone living without.
They say it takes a village, well a village and the the staff of Room to Grow. Thank you for all you do, and for also throwing a top notch event to celebrate five years of service! Bravo!
