The Mamas with Michelle, Haute Mama of Five! Michelle also has a jewelry business on the side. You know in her spare time! Congrats Michelle for finding a balance and looking so good doing it! 

These are only a small few of the Moms we met this year that have shown us that it is Haute to do something for yourself whether it be a new dress, charity, business, you name it. When you become a Mom you become empowered not only can we give life but we nurture, multitask and because we are women skies the limit! Be good to yourself Mamas! Remember our Motto.....

Longer Lashes for this Haute Mama! This product actually works!!

Hello Mamas,

Okay, so I watched this commercial on TV about a month ago claiming you can have longer lashes in weeks. It is a product called Rimmel London Lash Accelerator. It says it has AVEC Grow-lash complex! Blah Blah Blah.... does it work I thought? 

Days later I was in CVS and I saw the product and it was buy on get one FREE! Hmmm I thought they either want us to see it works or they are trying to unload a bad product. Curious I was, I bought it! 

The package says 117% longer in 30days and 80% longer instantly. Well, I must say it did extend my lashes a bit at first BUT a few weeks later I looked in the mirror after applying my mascara and I was like WOW!!! This actually worked! They were super long!!!

I saw Kate at a school event and I said look at my lashes aren't they crazy long and she said " Wow! did you get extensions?" Thats when I told her about this product. In sync we both said "We need to blog this to our Mamas!!"

This picture was taken after just one application of mascara. I will note that it does take a minute or two to dry and being a mom on the go I always tend to smudge it as I am rushing out the door! Other than that... I Love this product!!

In 1972 Title IX (nine..I'm horrible at the Roman numerals too) was part of legislation passed in the Education Amendments that requires  schools receive federal funds to provide girls and women with equal opportunity to compete in sports.  That was the year the three mamas were born, so we don't know what it's like to live in a world without girls sports and for this, we are thankful.  Research suggests that girls who participate in sports are more likely to experience academic success and graduate from high school than those that do not play sports.  Half of all girls that play sports experience higher levels of self-esteem, and less depression. They are also less likely to use drugs, or get pregnant.  It's a no brainer-girls sports rock!

One of my favorite catalogues is Title Nine.  

Each month I sit and read the catalogue like a magazine.  The models are all real life people, and they even attach little bios (e.g. So and so, nick name Monkey, loves raisins and rock climbing).  Customer service is beyond attentive.  Prices reasonable.  Quality, top notch.  For the female athlete looking for a quality item, and looking to support a company who states in their mission statement "WE LIKE DESSERTS", look no further.  

For the well endowed athlete, you've found your holy grail.  Sports bra coaches on call.  Oh yes.  They also offer C cup-DD cup swimwear.  Hip hip hurray!

Name your sport: running, triathon, outdoor adventure, tennis, cycling, maternity fitness? Heck.  make up a sport, they probably have something for it.  They have everything.  

Shoes? Accessories? Yep.  Those too.  

Title 9 gets a 

for their commitment to womans sports, a bra coach, an awesome selection and for liking desserts.  Like we say, life is short, make it haute (and eat dessert first).

Hello Mamas,

Still shaking your head at what to get that hard to buy tween or teen in your life. You know something a tad cheaper than the Plasma Tv, Mac computer or any other Apple Product!! Lol!!! 

I will now introduce you to your Handsome Fairy Godfather named Keil James Patrick! Kate and I were in our favorite store Serendipity By the Sea one day and Cecily was showing us these really unique bracelets by KEIL JAMES PATRICK a local from Rhode Island!

These bracelets inspired by classic New England Style are the next hottest thing for tweens, teens and adults as this thirtysomething Mama couldn't leave without one and in fact I am visiting my friend Cecily this week for a few more Christmas gifts, and this bracelet is on my list for my daughter! 

 

 As it states on his website: The Concept for Keil James Patrick brand began in Prep School. "I used to shop in old vintage clothing and Antique stores and rummage through friends attics looking for that classic styled clothing from an older era that was long forgotten." Three Haute Groupies..We heart the The Varsity Girls!

My girls begged and begged to stay up late to watch some movie about some singing high schoolers.  I relented.  Three movies later, I still know all the words to Shapei's I'm Fabulous.  My friends are lying if they say they don't too. 

Then someone named Miley came along.  Please mommmm....download the Hannah CD.  But I thought you said her name was Miley? Mommmmm...just do it! Next thing every little girl I know is sporting Hannah Montana clothing and singing about getting the party started.  

Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Jo-bro (I can say that right?), you name it, they call the next big stars as soon as they hear them.  Well the next big stars according to them and alloftheirfriends....

Boston's very own Varsity Girls.  Kim and I along with our daughters got the chance to hear them this weekend, and aside from being adorable and utterly sweet, their voices are beyond amazing.  

the four girls of The Varsity Girls offer a fusion of differing musical backgrounds and unique vocals, which blend in perfect harmony creating their signature sound--a mix between Pop, Rock and R&B. The members of The Varsity Girls consist of Simone Cardoso (15), Jillian Zucco (16), Kimber-lee Jacobsen (18) and Jillian Jensen (18).

Parents love them because their music sends a great message-about being youself  and warning about mistakes you'll regret later.  As a mom of three little girls, it's so important to find bands who represent such good morals.  Although quite frankly all my daughters care about is the fact their first big hit, Be You, (available on iTunes) is "so awesome Mommmmm". 

The girls have played all over (Fenway, Gillette, Hard Rock Cafe..), and were fortunate enough to play for a certain president you might know.. Barack Obama (squeal!)! Clearly this is a band on the rise, and you'll want to catch them while you can!  Lucky for us, we got to hear their amazing voices and watch them dance this past friday at a sold out PTA benefit concert. The auditorium was going crazy singing and dancing! The girls captured their fans that night with their great vocals and enthusiasm! And after the show they allowed their fans backstage for a picture and autographs! and yes mamas Kate and I are officially Groupies!!!

While we find it hard to argue with the hundreds of screaming Varsity Girls fans we sat amongst, you yourself, may need a little prompting, so if you still don't beleive us, put this on your iPod and see if you don't dance around the house play this for your kids and ask them..

towne stove + spirits-three haute mamas approved

so we mamas thought we would start sharing some of our favorite things-some of our three haute mama approved restraurants, products, hotels, books, you name it.  Our first "haute stuff" award goes to:

 

Kim, Kate + the girls recently spent the evening doing drinks and dinner at towne stove + spirits located adjacent to the Hynes Convention Center, on Boyleston Street in Boston's Back Bay.  Upon arrival, and after valet parking, it was clear that this was not going to be a quiet night.  The first bar was packed to capacity, and shortly after, they had to form a waiting line outside (bwah whah whah to them.  It was COLD!).  The bar is gorgeous, bartenders mix some choice cocktails , and clientele a mix of well dressed age groups.  Something for everyone, or rather someone for everyone;)

Inside the other half, a sweet man stood watch keeping the dining rooms, 2nd and 3rd bars to a minimum, more reserved.  One half of the culinary directing duo, the uber talented Lydia Shire, (Jasper White being the other) was actually on hand and literally very hands on, out and about among the restaurant.  How often do you see that these days? We had a very large party, no reservations and they were able to accomodate us no problem, and very kindly as well.  Again..how often?? Clearly we're not food critics ( I eat cheerios for 2 out of 3 meals a day, let's be real here) but from what I can tell the only time of the night we girls were silent was when the food arrived.  Happy bellies all around.   

towne is a fun people watching place-cute boys, cute girls, young couples, old couples, it was all there.   If people + chit chat aren't your thing, the Boston Public Library is conveniently located down the street.   If you enjoy a lively time, savory dishes and a good drink, in an accessible location, then towne is the haute place to be.
