Not too much longer before our beloved Carrie Bradshaw and her fabulously fashionable and witty girlfriends light up the silver screen!! The movie Sex and The City 2 is coming out May 27th!! I remember how excited I was to get in front of my television and watch the show. I was always so disappointed that it was only a half an hour long! They always left me wanting more!! Other than the fashions the best part of the show for me was the dialogue and how candid they were about their feelings no matter what the subject or what response they would get. For Example.....
Charlotte says: You're engaged!
Carrie says: I threw up. I saw the ring and I threw up. That can't be normal.Samantha says: That's my reaction to marriage.
They love each other and they love being women!! It is very rare that you can totally expose yourself to someone and at the end of it whether they agree with you or not they are right there beside you no judgement. We watched as they met for breakfast in their designer clothes and re-capped on what was happening in their lives together and I absorbed every minute of it!!!
We as women go through so many different phases in our lives. The best part for many of us is that we have our close girlfriends to help us through the transformations. Life changes at lightening speed, and we are always adapting to it, but it is with our girlfriends that we can talk about it, cry about it, laugh about it etc. etc. and then go shopping, split a dessert or toast with Cosmo's in our most fashionable garb of course!!!
This weekend I am off to Nantucket Island with three of my favorite Girls!! They have no idea how much I need them, they make me laugh, they make me feel good about myself, they give me peace! I feel that Sex and The City has inspired a Girlfriend Revolution and if you haven't enlisted yet... you must!!
