Score at the grocery store! Mascara that's cheap and chic

Mamas! I am tres excited to share with you my score at the grocery store!  You know I love makeup, and as far as mascara goes, Cover Girl mascara is my go to.  Easily accessible, and as soon as I find a clump, I replace it with one of the four I keep on hand.   Can't really afford to that with the Christian DiorShow mascara I had been using previously.  Yesterday I read a makeup tutorial by Kim Kardashian's makeup artist, Joyce, where she swears by L'Oreal's Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black, and don't you know I was at my local Stop and Shop first thing this morning, mascara in cart on top of the four boxes of Cheerios.  

To spare you the agony of purchase (7.99 to be exact), and dissappointment, I decided to run my own test for you mamas.  The before.  No makeup.  Taking one for the team. :

After applying two coats per eye (on a night out...no holds barred, go big or go home is my rule):

Grocery store score!  L'oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black.  And note to self, Kim just walked in casually tossed in, Oh..I've been buying that mascara for at least twenty years.  

Well I guess the Kim's secret is out....evil laugh...Kim Haute Mama and Kim Kardashian!

Mamas, remember, celebrities get volume and length by using falsies-both extensions and false eyelashes.  That's  they only way to get that wide eyed volume WOW look.  But I've found that wearing falsies to through the carpool lane gets me the wrong kind of WOW look I'm looking for.  For day to day eyelashes, I give the L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara a:

 

Accessorize is to adorn, embellish, or decorate ... your eyes?? Why yes... Why not?

So how many times have you heard the eyes tell a story, etc... The same as accessories... They tell a story!! So why not tell a story with eyelashes!!! Like my statement necklace and bracelts I don't leave home without my eyelash EXTENSIONS!!! I had to cut budget recently and the first to go was my manicure... because I could never give up my monthly visit to my New BFF - Eddie at Bananas in Norwood. (Sorry Kim and Kate!!)
 My eyes are telling stories every day ladies... without mascara!!!! And the best story of all is that it takes me less than 15 minutes to put my make up on b/c my eyelashes are soooo FAB!!! Thanks Eddie!!!!

How awesome is that!!! Oh yes... that is the real deal.. I get asked on a daily basis or told how long my eyelashes are.. I LOVE them..

The process is easy. 2 hours to get first installment. Then every month I go in for one hour and get them re-filled. This is what the process looks like.

  IT doesn't HURT!!! It's actually quite relaxing!!!

So ladies... accessorize is a verb which means to .. add to, decorate, supplement, complement, adorn, ornament, augment, embellish.

So if you want to accessorize something it could be your wrist with bangles, your neck with a statement necklace and your eyes... with EYELASHES!!!!!

Saturday SCORE!

and I ain't talking about sports gals..

Let me tell you about my lashes.  Grab a box of tissues and prepare yourself.  Not pretty.  

So along with three beautiful, darling little princesses, my pregnancies brought along a most horrendous side effect. Some gals lose their hair. Some gals lose their chest.  

Wait. I did lose that.  

But it gets worse. In addition, I also lost my eyelashes! For reals! Not all of them.  Just odd sporadically spaced ones.  I wear falsies to evening events.  I've contemplated Latisse, but I like my money, and the side effects were a little sketchy.  So baldy eyelids I remained until....

A recent morning spent at the Mac counter, having makeup applied, and pining over the makeup artists insanely long lashes, thinking to myself "Genetics". And boy, was I wrong.  My new BFF filled me in her fab, and cheap, secret.

At $50.00 a fraction of the cost of Latisse and she swore she'd never had lashes like that everrrrr. Now I have a rule, if you can't trust a Mac makeup artist, who can ya trust? (Can I get an amen?) Then she gave me the piece de resistence. A coupon for 20% off.  They carry it at Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Who doesn't get those coupons in the mail constantly? So after doing the math, thats?? umm.. a lot off.  Anywho. I gave my new BFF a big hug, bought my weight in eye shadow and went on my happy way to BB+B.  Just started the Rapid Lash, and will report back for duty, sporting glam lashes approximately 30 days for now.
