FROM FASHION AVE TO MOTHERHOOD + BACK AGAIN. 3 FRIENDS WITH 3 DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES ON FASHION, BEAUTY AND LIFE.... AND UNLIKE OUR CHILDREN WE LOVE TO SHARE..
Murphy's law you spend a day cleaning up the yard and putting out the lawn furniture and sure enough Mother Nature decides she would like to partake in a whopper of an April Fools prank! Rain, snow you name it!! Blah!! and Mother Nature I am sure one Haute Mama..... ummmm the sense of humor not so Haute!!!
But that isn't going to stop this Mama from forward thinking........
So we've been busy little mamas, working hard on all sorts of fabulous things lately, but one thing that's been keeping especially busy is a local event that is near and dear to us. On May 19th the mamas and I, along with some generous and beautiful boutiques, will be presenting a fashion show during the 2nd annual Ladies Spring Luncheon to for Southcoast Hospitals.
Gather your girlfriends and come cheer on cancer survivors and those surviving cancer as they walk our runway in some wonderful fashions donated by local vendors, such as Contrary Boutique, Sara Campbell, Serendipity by the Sea, The Cottage and Sealore Designs. These are just a few of the vendors who will also be participating in the trunk show held on site, with a portion of the proceeds going to the cause. Of course a luncheon isn't complete without..a lunch, and the chefs at Kittansett have created a menu that is sure to rival the fashions going down the runway.
Tickets are going fast, and are limited to the first 100 guests, so don't miss this opportunity to spend an afternoon by the sea with your fashionable friends funding a fine cause.
Okay, its official I have spring fever! Lucky for me and my wallet I am the queen of buying traditional staple pieces so there is plenty in my closet to work from. This spring when I shop for some new items my goal is to get colorful and creative! Did I mention my obsession with the color Blue?
Okay Mamas let the fun begin........ I think every women should own a white blazer. Blazers when fitted correctly are flattering on any body type. I especially love blazers when I am having a feeling chubby kinda day!!

Lark Rise Lace Dress French Connection $288 Pricey and yes I bought it at Contrary Boutique. To quote the store owner Maryanne Kondracki "This is a classic summer piece you will have for many years!"Absolutely! works for me!! Lol!!
Sorry for the delay in posts this week. One of my perfectly angelic children decided that they would boobie trap the stairs with toothpicks. My youngest fell victim to the prank when he ran down the stairs and stepped on one. Mom however was the one most punished as I have had to carry my 48lb 5 year old around for an entire week. Ah life as a mom of four.
However, this mama did manage to make it out Wednesday night along with Kate and Christina to Cynthia Rowley on Newbury Street Boston for a very fashionable, enjoyable and very successful event. The Mamas and I along with Aj Williams of Creative Events had the Cynthia Rowley Boutique filled with a very lively and fashion forward crowd. We sipped champagne, nibbled on these amazingly moist cupcakes from Party Favors Brookline, laughed, talked fashion, careers, children, laughed some more. There were Mamas getting complimentary hair styling by Shannon Walsh of Jeffrey Lyle Salon. Other Mamas trying on pieces from the Cynthia Rowley Spring 2011 line. Did I mention the amazingly moist cupcakes! Not your mom's funfetti my friend!!!

It was such a fun night! As hard as it is to juggle everything to get a night out as well as living 60 miles away from Boston, Christina, Kate and I still make it a point to experience these sort of events, because we know a good dose of laughter, friends and fashion is just enough to charge these Mamas batteries.
XO Kimberly, Kate and Christina
Special Thank you to Nino Sambataro of Ninopix for amazing pictures and video!! Very talented and all around great guy!!
Happy Spring we finally made it!! Now we have an excuse to shop because we must have new clothes for spring! Right?!!
This wednesday evening we will be hosting along with Aj Williams of Creative Events a fun Fashion Night out on Newbury Street in Boston. Last thursday before attending an event at the Liberty Hotel Aj and I were styled by Cynthia Rowley boutique on Newbury Street. We were like two little girls playing dress up. The girls at Cynthia Rowley were so warm and helpful and helped us pick out two fabulously fashion forward outfits. I must admit I was lectured a bit to step out of my comfort zone and get a little crazy! Little did I know I would be chatting with the stars and Creator of Styleboston TV later that night. My outfit got lots of compliments.
This past wednesday was a blah! rainy day but for some reason all I could think of was color! I wanted to wear color, I stopped at a store to browse and found myself only looking at clothing that had vibrant colors. As a muralist obviously I love to work with color and I think recently working with all my passions such as fashion and art has led me to my latest addiction, COLOR.... It's a good one and goes so nicely with my other addiction, DRESSES!!!! So color me happy this spring!!!!
I bought this Calvin Klein dress at Marshall's for $39.99 I couldn't leave without it because of its vibrant color!! This dress would be ideal for an interview, luncheon, or even a date! Anyone? Lol!!
Top o' the mornin' to you mamas, and a happy St. Patricks Day to you all. Kimberly and I found the pot o' gold under the rainbow earlier in the week when we had a chance to interview the dolls behind the soon to launch pay to bid auction site, Label Doll.
Locals, Kelsey Robert and Kerry Mathieu had a vision for a site that combined their love of fashion, shopping and an alternative to purchasing that made it accessible to everyone. Pay to bid auction buying isn't a new concept, although it is for a strictly fashion site. It's also what sets it apart from the gilts, the rue la la's, or the ideelis, out there. The mamas and the dolls sat down and got the low down on exactly what is pay to bid auction buying, how it can help to make designer labels affordable for everyone and more importantly, insider how-to's on how to make the most of your bids.
Ok, so pay to bid auction, all new authentic women's products with the most awesome of in season designer names, and can be yours for next to nothing? Label Doll? Sounds like Label Deal to us. Mamas, I mean, dolls, sign up now and you can get five free bids. We heart free.
Mascot Label Dog Ellie agrees.
Always wanted to be the trendsetter among the carpool crowd? Here's your chance. Spread the word, and get ready to bid. Label Doll will be launching this month and we're hoping to spread out this luck of the Irish, because mama wants a new pair of Louboutins. Thanks Dolls!
Going green doesn't have to mean washing your face with bar soap and water. Ohnonono. Product junkie here recently made the switch from uber expensive facial cleansers back to my green roots-Alba Botanica. I found that my wrinkles and "freckles" (some may call them age spots, I prefer the term freckles) weren't disappearing, but my hard earned cash certainly was. I was also having a hard time with all the chemicals involved. I use Renova, so I felt like I was turning my face into a chemical waste land. I beleive in moderation. Keep the Renova, and supplement with my Alba Botanica. And aside from this lovely pimple that popped up out of nowhere (even my kids can't hide their horror, it's thatbig), my skin feels and looks exactly the same. Unlike my wallet which is much fuller.
The Hawaiian Collection. I feel like I'm giving my skin a tropical vacation, and not stuck in this tundra.
and for those of you suffering through acne (that'd probably be me) they've released a Natural ACNEdote.
Why add all those harmful chemicals to your teens skin when Lord knows they're a raging bucket of hormones anyhow. Teens are so into the whole saving the earth deal these days, so one up them, and bring home this baby first. Like totally..
And the best part..these products aren't available exclusively at fancy schmancy designer department store. Try the holy grail..Target. Or even your local market (Whole Foods, Shaws, etc..). Your friends will be green with envy when they hear how much you saved.
About two years ago I stumbled across this website called Nimli, natural, organic, green lifestyle. I loved the colors and the simplicity of the clothes. But I went mad for the accessories!! I bought a belt and of course a scarf.
Below is a picture of the scarf I bought.
Azuri Ombre Organic cotton scarf comes in 50 different colors. Retails at$ 225 and is on SALE now for only $ 44.00!! I bought a turquoise and beige scarf that I still to this day love to pieces!!
Check out this beautiful Vintage Butterfly Belt $80. I soooo heart this!!!! A good belt is an investment piece mamas!!
This week we are all about "Green" and I mean all things green, irish clovers, green fashion, even being green. Doing things that will help us protect our planet.
This website was sent to us Mamas a few weeks ago and we knew as moms we wanted to share it with you. I cannot tell you how many papers pour into my home everyday from school. The one's that I know someday will be treasures will be my children's artwork. Some pieces I have framed, and some are in a tupperware in the basement.
Chad Turingan created this NEW website called Dwawings. A new FREE website where you can finally save your kid's drawings and share them with your family and friends.
Chad's experience working at an elementary school, he noticed overtime, students drawings, artwork and projects accumulate and as much as he would like to keep all of them they ended up in the trash *cough, cough* he meant recycle bin!
This inspired him to create this website where you become a member and simply upload pictures of your children's artwork. So simple and easy and GREEN!!!!
