Hello Mamas,
Today marks International Women's Day 2011! It is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women's Day is a national holiday. This year's International Women's Day celebration is focused on work -- and making sure women across the world have access to the training and technology necessary to be a part of the global economy.
Last night Christina, Kate and myself had our Three Haute Mamas conference call. What is important to us is that we have a voice for you. It is incredibly hard to balance raising children and work. I know personally I am struggling with it myself. Being a stay at home mom for 10 plus years and now divorced and having to enter the workforce in a struggling economy on top of the fact that technology has changed so rapidly in the past decade I am so lost. I have children to care for and I am a women.
I don't think that it is a bad idea for Moms/Women to keep their options open. If you can find a way to stay updated on technology and what is happening in the work force almost like a professional renewing his license to practice from year to year. It would certainly benefit you. You never know what road life may put you on and it is always nice to be prepared! I'm telling you now playing catch up is exhausting, I don't sleep much anymore because I don't have time. My goal is to be comfortable and enjoy life and when I get there then I will sleep! On a hammock by the beach!
Today we Celebrate Women. Intelligent. Beautiful. Multi-Tasking Machines and let me tell YOU we are VITAL to the Global Economy!
XO Kimberly, Kate and Christina
