You all know that I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces -- my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined.
~ Elizabeth Edwards
What mother doesn't ache at the thought of Elizabeth Edwards' passing and the idea of her children losing their mother to breast cancer? And especially during the holiday season. Face it, we all sit and for a moment, we are in her shoes. And it sucks.
This season many children are struggling with their own mothers undergoing medical treatment for breast cancer. It's not an easy road, and the Ellie Fund, like Santa, is there to swoop in and provide support to Massachusetts patients and families in times of need. Please consider donating to this beautiful organization who does so much good throughout the entire year, unlike Mr. Claus, who only works his magic one day a year. We still love you Santa.
"The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others' burdens, easing other's loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas."
~ W. C. Jones
