Hello Everyone Kimberly here!!
I had the pleasure Monday night to attend a fashion show to benefit The Ellie Fund the event was held at the beautiful Boston Harbor Hotel's Wharf Room. The Ellie Fund Helps women and families endure their battles against breast cancer. Here in Massachusetts, The Ellie Fund has experienced a dramatic increase in requests for support over the past few months. We all know the statistic.. one in seven women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. To quote the event Co-Chair Susan Wornick " Breast Cancer offends us all and that is why we are here!"
That night the Wharf Room was filled with women that will never meet the women who are in need of help. We just wanted to be there for them in some way to help them fight their battle. Monday night I was so happy to do so. Along with some of my best girlfriends one of which is a breast cancer survivor.
The Wharf Room is beautiful and was decorated with the pink theme. The runway was illuminated with great lighting design.
Every women there was dressed to the nines as they say!! Co-chair's for the event where Kelley Tuthill and Susan Wornick of channel 5 news. Kelley is also a breast cancer survivor and Susan in my opinion if the news hadn't worked out for her could have been a stand up comedian. She brought laughter to the night with her wit and great comedic timing!! First person on the runway was SIGH... Wes Welker of the Patriots. HEAVEN!!! He was auctioning off a football signed by Tom Brady and himself. There were other items after that but I just can't seem to recall!! hahahaha!!! They did however raise a lot of money for the Fund!! YAY!!!!
The Fashions were provided by Ports and Company of Cohasset. Owned by the lovely Lisa Lynch pictured below standing to the right. Lisa showcased all the hot trends right now. The white jeans, the tunic tops and my personal favorite the one shoulder look along with lots of fabulous jewelry like stacked bracelets and bold necklaces!!
Kelley Tuthill modeled a beautiful pink trench coat that was auctioned off and sold for $2000!!
The models for the evening were anchors from Channel 5 News. Natalie Jacobson, Gail Huff, JC Monahan, Rondella Richardson, Liz Brunner to name a few. We had such a fun time!! Events like these happen all the time and are really worth the money! The food was fantastic, lots of fun interesting people and a good excuse to get dresses up. Most importantly you make a difference in someone's life no matter what the charity may be. Now that's HAUTE!!!! There are many ways through fashion you can show your support and make a difference to women battling breast cancer . The Ellie Fund has their own designer jean called Ellie's where proceeds go to help more than 600 women and families who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer here in Massachusetts. Brighton decided in 2003 to create a bracelet annually to give hope and encouragement to everyone who is committed to fighting and eradicating this disease.
So you see there are so many opportunities to show your support. Charity is like Haute Couture for your soul!! When you give to it you feel beautiful on the inside and out!!
XO Kimberly
