Little + in the Middle: Happy Birthday to my Memorial Day baby

hiiiiii mamas!! Hope you're enjoying one of the best weekends of the year! One of the best because it's the gateway to summer-finally! Also, because how 'bout them Bruins?! Did someone say Stanley Cup? And also because 8 years ago I gave birth to my now 8 year old daughter Payton.  She's little, and in the middle (of the three sisters), but as feisty as they come! 

Last night she requested lobster and steamers for her birthday dinner. Yes.  She's 8.  And to prove it for her breakfast? Mom's famous doughnut cake....

Outfit of the Week: Hello Preppy!

Memorial Day Weekend is almost here, hurray! Three day weekend, happy forecast, and the beginning of what New Englanders have been patiently waiting all year for..summer! Time to break out those whites!  Do you follow the no white before Labor Day rule? Nahh..me neither.  Kimberly's been rocking white lately, and people have been literally stopping her to ask about her dresses so let's toss that rule out the window and break out the white dresses, tops, and bottoms!  White's all right! 

And because I was born in Boston, and hence, am half preppy, a nice white outfit of the week with a hint of my inner prepster showing.  Don't knock the Sperry topsiders either..did someone say wedge heels??

Boston Don't Be Shocked..It's Called "Warm Weather" + We Are Here to Help

Wow! We are just now recovering from last week! And our girls weekend in Nantucket wasn't exactly restful, truth be told! Work continues on our website, and as usual we are running fashionably late on our debut.  It's turning out to be more of a project than expected and when the going gets tough, the tough turn to

Shopping!  That's actually a photo from a very fun night out apres Fashion Show (that went super duper well) at our good friend Maryanne Kondraki's Contrary Boutique.  She knows us-she had plenty of food, fashion, and yes, skinnygirl margaritas on ice waiting!  Thanks Maryanne! 

And now it's almost Memorial Day weekend, the start of summer!  And Boston, don't be shocked, but the forecast is calling for sunny days ahead.   Are you ready to brave the pool/beach mamas? We've discussed summer prep before, and how you should not be surprised it's coming, well..I am so not ready.  But no time like the present! What to wear.... What to wear..... packing for Nantucket Wine Festival it's a little more complicated than you think

Last year a few of my girlfriends and I embarked on a girls weekend in Nantucket. It happened to be Wine Festival weekend. We arrived at the airport with luggage that could have lasted us a month on the Island.  So excited for the weekend we were dressed for us and what we felt beautiful in. I do remember hearing a group of girls laughing at us, slightly annoyed I thought to myself to each his own. We are who we are.

I think of those girls in the airport today, dressed very casual maybe what they thought was Island appropriate, well they may want to re-think that.  Boston Magazine's Alexander Hall recently spotlighted Nantucket Wine Festival writing ....

Making TIME for yourself-the Winners of our Timex Give Away...

Hello Mamas! And new visitors from SITS and BSW, welcome! What a great blogging community! And thank you for all your wonderful comments.  Like Kimberly said, isn't ironic we haven't even had a chance to "SIT" all day?! That's right..We are officially in over our heads this month! Not only are we coordinating  a fashion show this week with over 13 vendors participating, but we have also committed to particpating backstage at the Ellie for Kelly Fashion show, the Ellie Fund Casino night, baseball, lacrosse, ballet recital rehearsals, end of the school year EVERYTHING! and oh..did we mention we have a new website in the works? Launching MONDAY! Super duper swamped mamas, but c'est la vie, we do it to ourselves, and you know what? If it wasn't so much FUN, we wouldn't be doing it.  Do you love what you do? We hope the answer is YES! If not maybe you need make time to re-charge? Part of the reason we throw all of this on our plates is because we also make a commitment to re-charging.  We have mentioned before how we always take time out for ourselves, whether to spend a night out with friends or workout in the morning, or just go get our eyelash extensions! LOL! And every year, the mamas always spend this weekend in Nantucket! It just so happens (what a surprise)  to coincide the annual Wine Festival and you can read about our past escapades relaxing weekend here, here and here.

Nantucket is literally a hop, skip and a jump away (but even if it weren't you still must go!).  We stay at a family house (thanks Nonna Gioioso!) and have a great time.  You don't have to spend a million to feel like a million, but you do owe it to yourself to take care of yourself.  And speaking of taking care of yourself, if there is one thing we have learned, those Nantucket cobblestoned streets can be deadly.  Take care of those ankles and pack your cutest wedge heels.  This season offers some haute ones, especially in the prepster department if you want to fit in with the locals

Hiiiiiiiiii! And welcome! Assuming this is your first time visiting, as this is our SITS day, grab your beverage of choice, and let us introduce ourselves. 

We are Kate, Kimberly and Christina.  Three Haute (rhymes with OAT) mamas

We started this blog just over a year ago, so I guess we're in the toddler stage now, and never in our wildest did we imagine how fast and furious it would take off.  Kind of like a toddler come to think about it;)  It started with us just talking about what we bought and what we wished we could buy!

Then we started traveling

We started this blog (and soon to be website!) because we were home with our families and wanted to keep them involved while being involved with our passions, and so far, it seems to have worked! The bonus is that we've met some super awesome people, and got to dress up while doing it.  Is it always easy? Heck nooooooooooooo! Like Kimberly said, sometimes I'm making Kraft mac and cheese, standing at the stove in full makeup, high heels and a designer gown.  But is it worth it? Heck yeahhhhhhhhh!  And SITS girls, thanks so much! We have found THEBEST blogs through them! Right?! Is it us, or do the best blogs carry that SITS button on them? (insert high five)

Hello Mamas,

 

Lots of changes lately for this Haute Mama! I sadly had to part with my 9 year old Toyota Sequoia. Really, they literally had to pry the keys from my hand. Lots of memories in that car, I got it when my first born was 1 year old and it made it through until my fourth child's 5th year of life! My friends joke with me about the car, countless bang ups, I lost half the car when I hit a deer and it still drove me home safely. Oh ya and then there was the fruit fly epidemic of 2009! LOL!! The car was amazing and we will sadly miss it. 

So for this Mama a new car and with that a car payment.  My clothing allowance has really shrunk to nothing. However, that doesn't mean I have to sacrifice style and I found it on Newbury Street the other day for under $40!

My alter ego comes out for Girls Night in Boston! I told my friend Michelle and Daniella that night, I wear jeans a lot during the week with my kids. So for me when I go out I want to feel like the Ultimate Girly Girl!!!

don't know where i found this, but i am dreaming about it. at night. during the day. ever since the sun came out and the temp rose above 50 (and it's not been long peeps, this is new england after all) i've been thinking nothing but bright colors and prints.  short dresses and high heels. chunky jewels and wavy hair. winter be gone. i'm ready for this....
