FROM FASHION AVE TO MOTHERHOOD + BACK AGAIN. 3 FRIENDS WITH 3 DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES ON FASHION, BEAUTY AND LIFE.... AND UNLIKE OUR CHILDREN WE LOVE TO SHARE..
True story-I like to play a trick on my littlest, Lexi..I tell her I have the Bieber Fever, and it's contagious. And then I chase her around the room until she cries because "I don't want the Bieber Fever Mommy!!! ". I don't really have the Bieber Fever, but Lexi's older sisters are begging me to buy her a "future Mrs. Bieber" tee shirt because she can't read, and they love a good joke as much as I do.
So speaking of the Biebs, yet another Sunday night Red Carpet event, this time the Grammys! I, as usual, am very excited to see what all the Ga-gas and the Rhiannas are sporting this year. I will for sure be couch bound flipping back and forth between MTV and E!Entertainment so that I don't miss one Jimmy Choo. Check back in tomorrow and we will discuss the hits, the misses, and who knows? Maybe the meat dresses?
edited to add: I do not, in fact, have the Bieber Fever, but that is a funny game to play on a 5 year old.
There's been a lot of Jessica Simpson in the news lately. First off, newly engaged (clap, clap). Secondly, her new Holiday album is sitting on the top download charts on iTunes (clap, clap) . And thirdly, as I whipped through Macys like a streak of lightening on Black Friday, I couldn't help but stop in my tracks upon the sight of these:
And then my mouth dropped. Jessica? Simpson? Huh? Fo' reals? Well I'll be.
I jest. A bit. I gather Ms. Simpson has redirected her energy away from acting and into marketing, because as I perused the collection, I was genuinely impressed. Kimberly has more than a few JS pieces in her wardrobe, and I am always floored when she tells me what line they are. Her collection is well thought out, she covers the gamut from shoes to bras. So let's crank up our new Jessica Simpson holiday album, and pick up a few goodies for the seasons parties and dinners out.
Never mind pennies from heaven...How about this copper number?
This silver showstopper should flatter almost everyone, tucks just below the breast, lays flat at the hips, and hits somewhere around the knees (depending upon your height). Concerned about it being sleeveless? Add a wrap or better yet-a faux fur wrap!
Every mama deserves a lovely evening coat, and this one in winter white is just the trick. And don't feel like it belongs just after dark, ohnonono, pair it with denim and you're haute to trot.
Ms. Simpson..you know your shoes, and while we mamas love us a sky high heel, not everyone agrees. Christina and Kimberly are in tears about this fact, but even they know, it's all a matter of preference, and this is a perfect alternative. Still a heel, yet not so thin you feel as if you're wobbling on a toothpick. And yes. Still haute.
My crush on cross body bags having been revealed, I can honestly say this bag is on my Christmas list. Holiday cocktail parties leave no room for free hands-cocktail in one, cocktail in the other, hors d'oeurvre in the other. What's a gal to do with her purse? Cross body bag to the rescue!
Call this your relief clutch player. Wallet by day, yet cute enough to play clutch in a pinch by night.
And from her new album, a song clearly penned for her new fiance. I'm sure he'll be kissing her for Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, Presidents Day.....
I am having such a blast watching my twin boys play Tiny Mites Football. Above is a photo taken at a recent game. It is a shot of Dylon #21 running to block for his twin brother Ryon #48 who is running behind him with the ball!!! Like the lyrics in the song by Kenny Chesney titled Boys of Fall... I got your number I got your back, when your backs against the wall!! I'm a proud Mama!! My friends call me Leanne Touhy! I guess I do have some of her in me after all!! GO BULLDOGS!!! GOPATRIOTS!!!! Dream Big and remember to have fun!!
After reading Christina's post regarding Zac Posen for Target, I headed there for milk and toilet paper honey*
*code words: Zac Posen for Target
First things first, I do not exactly live in a booming metropolis so their selection was marginal at best. Few dresses and lots of tees. Now if I wanted a Zac Posen tee, I'd probably make the investment in the real deal. It's safe enough to say, it's probably the only thing I could ever afford from the original Zac Posen line. As far as the dresses they...well, I wasn't jumping up down. Maybe just up.
These two were my favorites of the maybe 5 or 6 there. I'm a little sentimental of the one on the top as it's nearly identical to the one I wore to my senior prom (sigh..prom..). All that said, I like a bargain. And I applaud any high end designer willing to market to the masses at a fraction of the cost. So in light of Mr. Posen sharing his bargains, I thought this week could be about our bargains. Where we save, and on what.
Fashion + beauty doesn't have to cost a fortune. Like Christina says, know where to invest + where to save. Here is our little beauty bag of cheap tricks because we want YOU. To want. US. (sigh..prom again..sorry..)

Well I ventured to Target tonight to see if Mr. Posen hit it out of the park and I am still scratching my head! But I blame the buyers and well... Target! I graduated from college with a degree in Fashion Design, still to this day I have a burning desire to design clothing but with four children under the age of 9 it has been a challenge. Any hoot!! I could be wrong but I am envisioning where there were a team of designers perhaps that sketched out a vision that Mr. Posen had. There was a big board meeting and the different designs were proposed. Mr. Posen gave his final signature to what he thought would best represent his name as a designer. Then the buyers for Target came in and ruined it... Only placing bits and pieces of the line in stores. I am sure if we could see the whole line for sale we could mix and match pieces and make some really fun outfits but that is not the case. The second tragedy was the fabric unfortunately given their target market and price point the designer's hands were tied. From the few pieces I saw I thought the fabric was cheap and the designs were boring. The clothes looked nothing like high fashion from a high fashion designer. I feel the same way about Vera Wang's line at Kohl's! Cheap and well... YUK!!
Hey Target!!! How about a line of clothes by Three Haute Mamas!!! I guarantee we would hit it out of the park!! Full artistic control of course.... we are your Target audience after all!! Just sayin!!
